Providing family liaison in crisis

Robust crisis preparedness includes having staff who are trained and ready to offer support to families.  We'll provide participants with the skill to deliver comprehensive support to families and policies that can be implemented post-training. 

Delivering Psychological First Aid

PFA is evidenced to reduce distress after an incident and improve short-term coping and long-term functioning.  We'll equip participants with the ability to stabilise colleagues impacted by a crisis situations and train them to offer basic emotional support and information on coping strategies.

Preparing staff for working overseas

Challenges with stress and burn-out are commons reasons for returning home early.  In this training, we prepare participants to identify the key stressors that they may face and support them to develop resilience action plans.

Developing staff care policy

Writing and implementing a staff care policy can be overwhelming. We'll guide you through the key components and by the end of the training, participants will have a draft policy to roll out. 

Implementing peer support networks

Many issues related to mental health, critical incidents and stress can be managed by well trained peer supporters.  We'll equip your teams to respond to and support colleagues in times of stress, reducing the need for specialist interventions. 

Managing stress & building resilience

We all face stress. How we manage and positively cope with our stress is often a challenge.  We'll work with participants to help them identify the source and impact of stress, building resilience as individuals and as a team.

Managing vicarious trauma

Staff working in insecure environments are often exposed to highly traumatic stories, images or materials. Secondary traumatic stress and vicarious trauma are real risks.  We offer an interactive one-day training which will help staff and managers understand the dynamics and the impact of secondary traumatic stress and vicarious traumatisation, to recognise common symptoms and reactions and equip them with skills to build up and maintain personal resilience.

Managing crisis situations

We'll work with you to build a realistic and appropriate scenario and deliver it through an immersive simulation with actors, social media feeds and multiple communication lines. We'll identify lessons learned and develop recommendations and a work plan.

Managing security risk

Covering the salient areas of security risk management, we'll ensure that your security, programme and academic teams have the capability to assess and manage security risks, aiding an informed and accountable 'security culture'.

Writing risk management policies

Beyond principles and commitments every policy should have an engine that drives decision making, ensuring Duty of Care. We'll train participants to understand the fundamentals and design options.

Assessing Duty of Care

Organisations should be capable of internally auditing their own Duty of Care position. We'll equip participants with an understand of auditing against legal, moral, contractual and best practice standards.

Understanding insurance

Travel. health and crisis response insurance policies can feel like a minefield. Insurers and brokers sometimes seem to speak a different language. We'll educate participants in terminology and small print, walking them through critical observations.

Managing digital & information security

Digital and information security risks can often seem complex. We'll inform participants of the principles and approaches of managing their own digital and importantly, information security.

Mentoring security focal points

Security risk management is driven by people and skills. We'll prepare participants to support non-technical team members, building their capacity through the use of tools, mentoring and coaching skills. By the end of the training, participants will have a draft action plan to roll out policy and implementation priorities.
